CAKRAWALA MEDIKA: JOURNAL OF HEALTH SCIENCES https://publikasi.medikasuherman.ac.id/index. php/cmj VOL. 03 NO. 01, DESEMBER 2024 Abstract Diabetes Mellitus complications are divided into 2, namely microvascular and macrovascular. Macrovascular complications include cardiovascular disease, stroke and peripheral vascular disease. Peripheral vascular disease can cause bruises or wounds that do not heal, gangrene which can lead to amputation, numbness, and pain. The aim of this literature review research is to analyze the Buerger Allen Exercise (BAE) intervention in improving peripheral blood circulation in Type 2 DM patients. The research method used is a Literature Review with a Narrative Review design. Article searches were carried out based on online databases consisting of Google Scholar, PubMed, and Proquest. From the 5 articles discussed in this Literature Review, it was found that the provision of intervention in the form of BAE in the 4 articles above had similarities in the dosage given to the treatment group, namely that the intervention was given 2x/day in the morning and evening. Variations in giving BAE intervention doses 2x/day in the morning and evening for 15-20 minutes in 5 consecutive days, while 1 other journal is different, namely the dose in the treatment group is 5x/day for 3-5 minutes in 4 consecutive days. The provision of BAE intervention can be evaluated by measuring the Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) with a Doppler measuring instrument, sphmomanometer, and stethoscope and digital sphygmomanometer. The most effective BAE intervention is implemented 2x/day (morning 09.00, afternoon 15.00) for 15 minutes on 5 consecutive days. ABI measurements can be done using a simple sphmomanometer and stethoscope or digital sphygmomanometer.
