A year left before nursing education in Indonesia was even a quarter-century, but some issue is unclear nowadays, especially the development of nursing education. This article aims to describe the development of nursing in Indonesia, using the education system perspective. A narrative literature review is a method chosen, by searching non-systematically on google scholar by using keywords “nursing education in Indonesia”. The results showed nursing education in Indonesia improvement, proved by 84 doctoral graduates and 9 professors in the field of nursing. However, there is a need for improvement in some areas, such as how to call nurses using “news”, because the word has no meaning in the dictionary and not all specialist education has been implemented. Based on existing data, it can be concluded that the word "ners" has not been registered as a word that has a meaning dictionary, and 3 specialist programs do not yet exist in Indonesia, so it is expected that Ners must be made uniform calls agreed and implemented throughout Indonesia, this is fundamental for being known society as a profession.
